Boiler Installations

At JJM Gas Services we understand that replacing your boiler is a big deal and something you need to get right. Rest assured, as an experienced, honest and fully Gas Safe registered provider, we won’t let you down!

Initial Consultation and Boiler Procurement

Our first visit will involve assessing whether your boiler does indeed need replacing or if there’s life in the old dog yet. If we mutually decide that a new boiler is your best option, we’ll help you choose a system that provides the optimum combination of affordability and long-term efficiency.

Removal of Old Boiler and Installation of New

The removal of your old boiler and integration of new is without exception a drawn-out procedure typically constituting a full day’s work. That said we’re proud of our ability to think ahead in such a way we’re able to get your new, state-of-the-art heating system up and running in as short a time as possible.

Fire-up, Testing and Aftercare Service

Unlike less scrupulous operators, we don’t just replace your boiler and do a runner. After confirming functionality and safety we’ll cleanse and condition your pipes and radiators. We’ll then talk you through how to get the best from your new system and return at your convenience for an aftercare visit.

Boiler Installation FAQs

What is a combi-boiler?

A combi boiler combines what a less sophisticated boiler and separate water tank/s do in one compact unit, saving you space and improving reliability.

What is a condensing boiler?

20-30% of the energy a non-condensing boiler uses is lost as water vapour and carbon dioxide bi-products escape via the flue (the ‘pipe’ that transports exhaust gases outside). Condensing boilers recover some of this lost energy by way of a heat exchanger, improving their efficiency by around 20%. Government legislation means that all boilers fitted after the 1st of April 2007 must be of the condensing variety.

What is a MagnaClean filter and do I need one?

A MagnaClean filter is a small, (usually) black cylindrical filtration device (roughly the same size as a can of Coke) that protects a boiler from debris build-up. While they’re not mandatory, like most gas engineers we install them as a matter of course because their boiler preservation qualities are invaluable.

What is central heating inhibitor?

Inhibitor is a blend of chemicals that counteracts the build-up of rust, scale, sludge and other materials that can clog up your pipes and radiators, resulting in poor performance or even system failure. Inhibitor is injected into your system – preferably when it’s empty. We apply inhibitor each and every time we carry out a boiler installation.

How do I know if a visiting gas engineer is qualified?

The Gas Safe Register has replaced CORGI as the government backed registration scheme for gas engineers, with membership attained via stringent tests. You can verify a gas engineers membership by checking their unique membership number or business name on the Gas Safe website.

John came to my rescue within 2 hours of me calling last Saturday and fixed my very old boiler very quickly. The service was friendly and very professional, I was impressed and will recommend and use again. You never know what you are going to get when you select a company from the internet but this experience was very positive.

Emma-Jane Lowe, Croydon

John was very helpful, honest and efficient. After many wasted calls to other engineers it was very refreshing to receive the great service he offers.
